I've had these fabrics for quite a while but couldn't figure out what to do with them. I was planning on making a dog sweater with the paw print pattern but decided a dog bed would probably be a little easier. I also ended up making a pillow for my cousin instead of some pajama bottoms. I need a little more practice with making clothes, that's for sure. I'd like to take a class once I get married and settled into the new place.

Fall
So, this new sewing hobby of mine is pretty distracting! Here's another shirt for the night. This shirt reminds me of fall. I do have to say that I got this type of tree design from a girl who went to school with me who makes and sells all sorts of shirts for different causes in Africa. I just hope to get enough practice to make some cute kids clothes one day. :)
Hops
This summer, we took Charlie on a hike and discovered he is an amazing jumper! We already thought he might be since he was never in his kennel when we would go let him out at Jon's place, but we hadn't seen him in action. I just came across this video and thought I'd share!
Apron Update
Remember the apron I made for my little cousin? Well here she is! A little big, but it can be adjusted a bit.
Turkey Tees
Life sure has been busy! But I am graduating college in 31 days and hopefully I'll have more time to blog when I am done. :)
This weekend, I went to some thrift stores and bought all sorts of material and crafy items, expecting to have a lonely weekend since I didn't think Jon was coming to visit...but then he completely surprised me when he showed up at my door Friday evening! That sure was a nice surprise. :) Suddenly, I had no time for crafts. Luckily, I finished these two projects on Friday before he arrived.

Happy Birthday, Grammare!
Today is my Grandma Mary's (aka Grammare) birthday! Growing up I spent every other weekend with her. We played barbies, we went shopping, went to the beach, we played store, we went to the park and did our toe nails. As I've gotten older and gone to college it's been hard to see her as much as I used to but I still love and appreciate her and miss having girl talks! :) So I hope she has a very happy birthday!!

Green Thumb?
So, as I was coming inside the house after going to the garden, I thought to myself, I must either be very lucky that the soil and heat and whatever other factors that are making my plants and veggies grow like crazy... or I just have a green thumb. :)
This is everything I picked today. 4 zucchini, 4 squash, and 7 cucumbers. I left about 6 zucchini and 5 cucumbers and 2 squash to pick Friday before I go home so I can take them to my mom! The gigantic bundles of tomatoes are finally starting to turn red, one is especially more red than the others, and I am wondering what in the world I am going to do with all these tomatoes. I like to cook with tomatoes and put them in things, but I cannot stand raw tomatoes... I am thinking maybe I should do some canning and have like stewed tomatoes for a few months that I can use for cooking? Not sure! The corn looks like it's going to be ready soon; each piece is fairly large . . I am going to have to do some reading on when to pick corn I suppose. My eggplants are getting much bigger which is exciting, except for there are only two of them, and I am guessing that is all I will get all summer. My broccoli is getting much bigger as well, which is exciting! Everything else is still doing what it's supposed to do as well. I just feel like it has already been such a fruitful summer!
I thought I'd share my favorite gardening tools with you. You can always use a pair of gloves (I mostly use them when handling the cucumbers because they are very prickly!), a mini handheld shovel, scissors to chop off the very thick stemmed zuch. and squash, and whatever that thing is on the right... I use that for weeding. :)
That's all for tonight... I need to do some homework and then figure out where to store all of these veggies! I can't leave any kind of produce sitting out for even a day it seems like before it starts to get moldy since it's so hot here!
